Inside the remix
At some parts, both Heart and Celine versions are so synchronized that their voices overlap completely, magically creating a new one, but with little interest to the ear. That's why I had to de-synch the tracks a little bit. I've used several copies of vocals (Celine's mainly) to simulate the choruses, cutting the word "Alone", for example, and shrinking it, thus creating a kind of "Aaaahh". The final instrumental part was created shrinking the Heart's piano and then enhanced with Tap Reflector (Tom Szilagyi plugin) and Ringmod with LFO (plugin by Steve Harris). Finally, I desisted to apply compressors and instead normalize several times the voices channels, preserving freshness. A lot of additional work was done, but this will give you an idea about the techniques involved.
